The Merchant's Key is a small island in the Eastern Bay (Name needed). It is not ruled over by any of Asaldur's ruling powers, but is rather a distinct, independently ruled entity created for the purpose of equal trading among all three countries, as well as any other world powers. It is ruled over by a guild of Merchants who is managed by the Merchant King, an elected official to deal with the every day needs of the island.
